DAILY WALK
Good Morning, the announcement of the deaths of Ron Hamilton (Patch the Pirate) and Charles Stanley was the news of yesterday. They shall be missed and were both used by God. I first met Ron Hamilton at O'Hare airport in Chicago in the eighties. His legacy is tied to having had to use a patch over his eye which started him thinking of Patch the Pirate. God works in our troubles as well as our good blessings. The Hamilton family is part of the Garlock family that led fundamentalism in music theory for many years and shaped many of our standards of music. When the teacher dies should we throw out the teaching or carry on the truths taught? Our reading today is Psalm 76 and 77 and II Thessalonians 2. I shall mention from Psalm 77 the idea of a song in the night. In dark places, a good song can help us through the dark valley. Sister Long sang God on the Mountain on Sunday and this song has been a blessing for many through the years. The McKameys, a group from Cleveland Tennessee first made this song a tribute to our God. Be careful in your choice of music whether it excites the flesh and speeds the heart or calms the heart and blesses the spirit of man. I love good music. In II Thessalonians 2 Paul writes about an erroneous letter, supposedly from him, about the day of Christ is at hand. Paul states "that day" shall not come until there be a fallen away first. The day He speaks of is the coming of our Lord Jesus and our gathering together unto Him. This chapter is a good explanation of the things that shall take place at and after the rapture of the Church. Read this carefully.
