Good Morning, please continue to pray for Sister Long as she travels to Morehead City for her sister's funeral services and burial. Pray also for Brother Earl Woodcock in the hospital with a broken hip. Our reading today is Psalm 41 and II Corinthians 9. Psalm 41 begins with"Blessed is he that considereth the poor". Some may just give a token dollar to someone on the street but that is not the meaning of helping the poor. Are you helping if the person buys alcohol or drugs with your dollar? Considereth would imply why is this man poor, how can I best change his condition, does he know the Lord Jesus? II Corinthians 9 challenges the giver to see beyond the gift to the benefit of the gift in the work of God and the benefit from God in His blessing because of your willingness to give. You cannot improve on God's program of giving through the giver. A closed hold can neither receive or give.
