Partner Neighborhoods

We focus on bringing together neighborhood leaders, churches, and businesses to create local strategic plans to improve food security in our neighborhoods. Today we partner with four neighborhoods, Burns Hill, Highland Mills, Washington Street, and West End.

Urban Agriculture

Our team's task is to encourage the growth of Urban Agriculture in its many forms in the High Point area. We are interested in connecting people and providing resources to develop individual gardens, community gardens, food parks, and social entrepreneurship opportunities.

Food Access

Our team strives to connect all food pantries, mobile meals, backpack programs, hot meal programs, and other food programs. We want to ensure food is accessible by sharing best practices and improving communication across our city.

Food Education

Our team strives to create a more nutrition and food-aware community. We are creating and providing resources to agencies about cooking on a budget, doing cooking demonstrations, and healthy eating.

Research & Policy

Our team works as a resource for all the other teams providing research and advocating for those working to improve food security, whether it be policy issues, laws, or being a voice about the issues.

Senior Task Force

The Senior Task Force's goal is to Increase Senior Food Security by educating our seniors on how to increase their access to food and increase their knowledge of utilizing their food resources to the individual's maximum benefit.
